Privacy in Recapp

Recapp sends audio for transcription, text for summaries, chat and reports, and only screenshots you explicitly include as context. Transfers use TLS encryption; Azure decrypts content for processing. Storage is local by default. If you enable Storage & sync in Preferences, Recapp stores workspace content, including recordings, notes, attachments, tags, templates and speaker profiles, in private Azure Blob Storage in Canada East, with TLS in transit and encryption at rest. This is not device-only end-to-end encryption: the service can decrypt content for synchronization and requested AI processing. Up to 20 GB is included with Pro and the free month. Synced devices retain local copies. You can download current cloud content and permanently delete the cloud workspace from Preferences, including after trial or subscription expiry. Cloud workspace deletion requires typed confirmation and has a 24-hour cancellation window. Uploads pause during that window; you can cancel from any signed-in device before the deadline. Deletion proceeds on the server at or shortly after the deadline even if the app is closed. Local copies remain. Workspace storage has no blob versioning or soft-delete retention after deletion completes. Microsoft may temporarily retain flagged prompts or output under its standard abuse-monitoring process.

Sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft to use Recapp. The account service stores a profile and sessions in Azure, separately from meeting content. Signing in does not upload files: cloud processing runs when you request transcription or AI features. Signing out locks the workspace and preserves your files.

Website and distribution: Azure receives ordinary web requests for pages, app packages. Infrastructure logs may include IP addresses and request metadata.

Optional website analytics: only after you allow it, the site sends page paths and selected button or download events to a separate Azure Application Insights resource. Cookies, browser storage, session replay, full URLs, query strings, form content and meeting content are excluded. Azure temporarily uses the network address for approximate location and then masks the stored address. You can change this choice at any time.

Workspaces: Markdown is plain text, not encrypted by Recapp. Protect your device and any folder, backup or sync service you choose.
